Jack Treloar announced himself in 2024 in a big way. Racing for the Motul Honda team in his rookie season in the premier MX1 class, he finished third overall in the New Zealand Motocross Championship behind Hamish Harwood and former Grand Prix rider Jed Beaton.

"To finish third overall on my rookie season is pretty crazy," he told BikesportNZ after the Taranaki finale. "I ride quite aggressively, so I had to change my riding style. You've got to respect the power of a 450cc bike or it'll bite you."

He'd raced MX2 the year before on a different brand and finished ninth after two bike failures.

For 2026 he lined up with CML KTM Racing. His season started badly with a retirement in the opening moto in Invercargill, but he came back to finish the Invercargill round with a third place, then recorded a 3-2-5 at Balclutha, including a second-place race finish. He finished fifth overall on 176 points.

"The goal is always to win," he said back in 2024, and his results since then show he's still working towards that.

He's been unbeatable in the 2026 Southern Series so far. Wearing #93, he won all three MX2 races at both the Southland round at The Sandpit on 13 September and the Clutha round in Balclutha on 11 October, according to Speedhive timing.
